Teenager Julia Dudley wrote a side - bar to one of her father Art's reviews a few years ago. The kid did a good job too.

Was she the one who suggested using teddy bears as an acoustical treatment?
I've seen worse acoustic treatments...........In my listening room.
The heavy bag does work well in the corner though.

They seem to have shrunk. Best to throw them away and replace with new vinyl.
Ha Ha; I have more vinyl than I can listen to, and definitely more than I want to clean.
Those things pictured used to collect dust (there are actually two more racks like it) until my son started taking them to his room. It seems that he likes a lot of classic rock and country - kinda puzzling since he's just 12.
He's been on a Bad Company/Rush kick for a while, and he cannot understand why his buddies don't dig that stuff. So, it looks as though the audiophile gene didn't skip a generation or two in this case.
He has a slammin little system; Adcom amp and preamp, Pioneer (Andrew Jones) speakers, SVS SB-1000 sub, and a Playstation for source. He's working out a deal with my brother to trade some slave labor (mowing, raking, stacking firewood) for a pair of Paradigm studio reference 40 v3.
Recently, he was caught screwing around with my turntable and a Japanese pressing of Rush's Moving Pictures, I started to get pissed but then realized that in all likelihood he possesses far steadier hands than his Dad. There are worse things than telling your kid, "go flip it over" at the end of side one.
