Apologies for this. It's not the dark forces that publish the magazine,
just the dark forces that service subscriptions (an independent company).

Jeez John. As excuses go, that is a pretty weak one!
It's not Stereophile, it's the company that handles our subscriptions. Don't hate us because we choose to partner with a unethical company.......

John, FWIW your subscription people lost me some months back, after not being able to access the digital edition and your subscription people not being able to fix it. They did cancel when I said "enough."

Sorry to hear that. As I wrote yesterday. I pay for subscriptions to both
the Zinio and Apple Newsstand electronic editions of Stereophile so that I
can see for myself how readers are treated. So far, I have not had any problems.
However, there was a reader I tried to help a while back who, IIRC, had
subscribed to the Apple Newsstand edition but had confused that with the
Zinio edition. (They are actually published by different companies;
subscribing to one doesn't entitle you to the other and vice versa.)

I just got my bi-annual renewal notice and there is no mention on it at all about automatic renewal.
As always I had the usual difficulty that the online renewal system would not accept my credit card and I had to do it by phone from the UK.
So why did the OP get this advice from Stereophile's renewal company and not me? After all we are both overseas subscibers. Are they witholding something form me? Otherwise why different policies for different folk?
JA: I appreciate that this isn't your responsibility but odd neverthess.
I learnt from you much earlier on that the magazine is not in control of it's contractee. Your response is ridiculous.I stopped subscribing long ago.
