He is a known crook. He reviewed speakers he had a financial stake in. Well documented.

And the kicker was that the speakers really weren't that bad. Tied to a Sumo or Bryston of the time and they sold like hotcakes. Stereophile even reviewed the small bookshelf.
I'm sure the speakers were not the issue, just PA's involvement. How he felt it was ok to review them is pretty funny.
PA felt very happy to review his own masterpiece. Fourier was that good. But more than this, he was ridiculed for saying that all amplifiers sounded the same. The first issues of TAC had reviews of such great equipments like Beveridge, Rogers, DCM Time Window, Cizek, Bryston, Quad and many more, I bought the Advent Receiver, Kenwood turntable and the Rogers LS3/5A after reading about them in TAC.
Cheers
Bill
I did find TAC early issue entertaining , PA hated toobs too , Favored mosfets and IMO he did have the best test procedure for testing amplifiers.
Can't see the issue with his reviews vs anyone else, its his opinion ...
