Yes, a blog is a good idea, and yes, it goes without saying that you are entitled to express your thoughts etc. But by the same token, be prepared for some well-deserved criticism.Indeed, I think that you are due for some soul-searching re issues of integrity.
As much as I liked your writing, your columns were the most advertiser-driven in all of stereophile's inventory. In addition, "Tom's space" never included any measurements, which served as a clearinghouse to all sorts of crappy gear that had to be somehow ushered into the recommended list...that, surprise surprise, you are now critical of. Whatever.
So please, do not insult our intelligence by repeatedly posting such "concerned citizen"/disgruntled ex-employee blurbs. Enough already.

What planet do you live on? What column were you reading?
Ad driven?
Crappy gear?
So Harbeth, Musical Fidelity, Unison Research, Opera, Triangle, Kef, etc make "crappy" gear.
You have just created an alternate reality. Congrats.
Whatever, dude. Continue to enjoy his recommendation on MF's tube buffer, or realistic CD players...Enjoy- you problably deserve it-on this planet or any other that you choose to be on.But the main issue is not an interplanetary one, but one of integrity. This whole petty crusade of sudden stereophile shaming is a bit problematic coming from someone who has been with this magazine for so many years...during which the recommended component list
A. Shrunk
B. Expanded
C. No changeLive long and prosper.

Wondering how you know so much about Gillet's former column in view of what you said below - that you're neither an S'phile fan nor a subscriber.
Ya know, Tom had a column for a very long time, during which he recommended a helluva lot of products. Picking 2 or 3 that you think were lame hardly means his rec's all sucked or were ad driven. Why you'd single out Gillet's column as being ad driven is beyond me, but if you wanna blame someone why wouldn't you blame the editor for that?
Exactamundo. Talk about an "agenda".
I was a subscriber for one year, long time ago, hadn't bought any hifi print magazine for a while.
But your questions just show the level of Paranoia that you live in. Get over it, it's just an audio magazine. Seriously, don't you think you're overdoing it?
Again: I.T. I.S. J.U.S.T A.N A...U...D...I...O M.A.G.A.Z.I.N.E.So many wrong things in this world, but reading your pathetic posts makes one wonder if it is actually all JA's fault.
