Hi, I love to read the publications Stereophile and Absolute Sound. I'm 58 now and remember when I was real young that when you purchased something, even thru the mail that you get a receipt. When I remit a payment for the yearly subscription,to both publications I never receive a receipt. After I send my money to them I always get another junk mail style letter that I owe the mags more money even though I have payed already. I'm not Thurston Howell the 3rd so I try to balance my checking account. It sucks waiting for the next issue not knowing that it might never show up because of an inept billing system...any of you folks going thru the same BS? If you are, lets get some change going here and have these audio mags operating on the up and up! Thanks for hearing my gripe,I'd like to hear yours.....sincerely'''Mark Korda

Apologies for the late response. I was distracted by other matters. I
subscribe to several magazines, none of which send a formal receipt of
payment. The only record is my credit-card statement.

Sorry about this annoying practice. It seems to be universal and apparently
due to the time lag between payment being processed and the information
reaching the department that sends out these mailings.
Not excusing, merely explaining.
John Atkinson
Editor, Stereophile
The best thing to do is cancel at renewal and don't get screwed again. Your help in making that decision is greatly appreciated.
As a subscriber to both rags myself, Stereophile has your info in the small box on the front cover that tells the Month/Year your subscription will end.
TAS has the same format, only it is a glued label, affixed to the front cover as well.
Hi Fantja, I should of replied to you faster as your answer made me feel pretty dumb, but I learned something new! Thanks! John Atkinson the head of Stereophile wrote too and and is aware and has lived with the problem of other subscriptions doing this. So Fantja, I apologize for posting a crabby question and outlook but with this Critics Corner on Audio Asylum, I think I got some wheels turning....thanks Fantja and JA....Mark Korda
My pleasure Mark. Actually, I have always found both TAS & Stereophile subscription dept(s) to be most helpful, you must phone them.
