I think DSD donwload is a bigger blunder than SACD for Sony. Between SACD and DSD, I would choose SACD any day. At least I own the SACD after I buy it. As I recall from reading your insightful comments on the "DSD movement," do we really need another version on Kind of Blue? Instead of wasting my money on a new format that is less likely to succeed than any one before it, I have have also been buying up classical CDs at absurdly low prices. Latest purchase: The Complete Recordings of the fantastic pianist Maria Joao Pires on Erato, 17cds for $50 new on Amazon. $50 would probably get me two DSD downloads what may or may not sound better if my PC operating system did not crash.

As are other HiRez Formats.
What have you listened to?
Not saying they do not sound great. The point is the limited music catalog available on DSD, the fact that you cannot resell what you buy, and the higher cost. Also, while this is by no means the norm, I have had at least two re res downloads from HD tracks with clipping distortion on some tracks. I'm sticking with my records, cds and sacds for the time being.
I am more enthusiastic about buying music that I do not already have on a format that works perfectly forever.
