Ever had your wife come home in tears because she tried to shop for childrens clothes with your disabled child only to be treated with the evil looks and retard used as a insult? Its not about being PC its about being human and respecting others maybe you missed that part of using the r-word. And he may be disabled but hes not stupid. Retard should only be used when discussing ignition timing.

All inmates should feel free to use any terms (within reason) they wish and then people like you can be offended, voice your displeasure and then we can all move on. Anything less is a total waste of time. Using the word "retard" on a forum and using this word in the presence of or at a retard are totally different things.
"Thanks! I promise to be more positive in the future"
When does the "future" begin?
. . . is most often applied to persons of allegedly normal IQ who do or say something really dumb, or whose opinions differ from one's own.
In its original and legitimate definition, it simply means "slow" or "delayed," as applied to learning ability.
Honest, God-given mental deficiency is not something you can blame a person for.
Willful ignorance is.
Failing to use the latest "politically correct" vocabulary to describe categories of people has little or nothing to do with being mean to specific individuals, although the mentally challenged may be incapable of making this distinction.
My wife was disabled, being legally blind since a child. I am well aware of how people often treated her as stupid for what was a purely physical handicap. After decades of experience, we got to the point where we accepted this, trying to feel sorry for these people because of their narcissistic personality and their poor upbringing.

...this makes you appear even more insensitive than before.
As an American, of course, you have the right to use whatever "politically incorrect" term you like no matter how many people it offends.
I have long believed that people of certain political leanings have difficulty thinking abstractly. It seems that you are confirming the stereotype that I hold. Thank you.

Try to put your wife's childhood disability aside and consider what you're saying in context to this sub-thread.
Sorry, but I was not speaking about organic brain impairment, I was speaking about a person's not knowing how to behave.
As you already know from private correspondence with me. I am sorry that you are still angry.
In the future I will make an effort to use the phrase "inappropriately deficient in social skills."
As that poster surely was, as well as delusional as to the facts of the matter.
