I have no reason to doubt that your speakers can sound quite good in a carefully optimized setup. So, I would suggest that you revise the instructions in the "quick start" setup page somehow, in order to reflect the possibility that *serious listeners* who are interested in refining their listening experience should most definitely consider contacting your customer support department for assistance with "The Optimization Checklist" (or another similarly catchy term), regardless of how happy they might be with a hasty or superficial setup.
The unwashed masses need to understand that true audiophiles spend hours if not days or weeks fiddling with the position of their speakers until they are at last satisfied that no further improvements are possible. Your speakers might be a bit more demanding of careful setup than some others are, but they are probably not unique in this regard.

In my case it was more like a month with my Focal studio monitors. I had to move the speakers fractions of an inch, but I ended up adding a sub and moving that around and figuring out how to set the dozen cross-over controls. This was a hopeless project when done totally by ear, so I got a calibrated microphone and RTA. In the end the sound I was getting went from not quite acceptable to excellent. I don't think I would have gotten these results without a combination of objective measurements and subjective listening.
IMO it is simply insane to judge speakers without understanding their interaction with the room. This is something that the audiophile must know and it's not going to come from any "quick start guide".

And come to think of it, it's actually kind of fun fiddling around for days on end.
After all the fiddling and setup, my maid comes and moves the speakers to dust around and underneath. And thus starts all that fiddling and set up all over again.

How long has this been going on? Do you hang around when the maid is on her hands and knees dusting "around and underneath" your speakers?

Have some discretion, OK!?
My speakers presently sitting on top of short bookshelves. Yet to try on the floor.

Does your maid have to climb a ladder in order to reach your bookshelf speakers?
The bookshelves are 5 feet tall. The maid has to use the stepladder to move the speakers around and clean which takes some time. This location on top of the shelf with the speaker in horizontal position with slight tilt to focus the woofers towards me is so far the most satisfying. The floor and the stands were not as satisfying.
