No, I've had enough. So long TAS....less time reading = more time listening.

Well, in my opinion, the authors were moronic in their multiple part series attempting to objectivley quantify a very subjective experience.
They were also completely out to lunch on the BB's in a box thing. I briefly read much of that section and it was a bit painful. They were claiming the BB's were having an effect on EMI and/or other things they claimed they could measure. I forget now much of what they were claiming.
However, they made no mention of potential interference or compromise made by the cardboard and other containers used for their experiments.
They made no mention that the BB's, though potentially providing minor sonic benefits, also potentially were severely compromising gains because the BB's themselves were vibrating in sympathy with vibrations already captured at the component and at the boxes containing the BB's.
They also neglected to mention that all they were really doing was performing experiments on mass loading using a very inferior method, BB's in a box.
Now if they filled those BB boxes with concrete, I'm sure they would have been far more surprised by their results.
I do not want to downplay the tremendous significant impact proper mass loading provides, but clearly these PhD's were trying to make this experiment into something more complicated than what it really was. Which apparently PhD's seem wont to do.
If you don't understand why it removes vibration, look it up.
Mass loading has been around for a long time. Some use brass, others have used magic bricks or even bb's! It is an option for you to try on your equipment and to see and hear if there is a difference. Enjoy!
I stacked a Blackberry on my dac. Didn't hear any difference. I'll try the fruit and report back.
Can you provide a reference?

Article and page?
OK fine...the foolishness begins on page 66.

It is a 262 page issue. Give ME a break. A flip through gave me no indication where what you say is there might be.If you are going to call out TAS as assclowns, which in many ways I agree with, provide the proper information and don't be lazy.

Truthfully I was so disgusted I tossed it in the trash but I fished it out.
Thanks. I appreciate it. I'm curious as to which writer claims this.
The writers seem exceptionally well read and are very thorough but when I think about the amount of time wasted....yes it's wasted....that it took to do the work and then write about it I shake my head. I've already spent too much time on this already, but at least I'm doing it at work. I guess they can say the same thing though...hmmmmm.
.??.....?...huh?
...but I still threw it away.
Well, this was the most useless and uninformative post I've yet encountered.
They say the flouride is stronger in some regions than others.
