I'm a loyal Sphile subscriber, but I am noticing major problems in each issue with either misinformation or editing. The August 2014 issue:
The follow up to the MF V90 DAC alludes to a Joseph Audio speaker
review elsewhere in the issue that is non existent. In the Recording Of the Month column, the author refers to a "high resolution" 96/24 download of the Black Keys album on HDTracks, when in fact it is a 44.1/24 download.
In Paul Messenger's UK show report he claims Bespoke Audio offers passive preamps at a "modest price" when in fact their products start at $12,000.
Not a federal case, but these things need to be addressed.

where the Joseph review was published, space issues meant that the
Musical Fidelity review had to be held back to the August issue. I
forgot to change the reference in the text. Mea culpa.> In the Recording Of the Month column, the author refers to a "high

Who's responsible for the caption on the Nola wiring picture? Nordost cable is not silver, it copper with a silver cladding. There's a difference.

That would be me.

I was repeating what I had been informed. My apologies for not fact-checking.

Thank you for acknowledging that. This is something that reviewers and their editors should strive to avoid, as much as possible. Not as bad in Stereophile as in some other publications and web sites, where text often reads more like a handout, with just enough personalization to create a false sense of insight.
No one should expect audio reviewers to be able to discern all the technical minutiae in a given product, and it would be useful to use more "according to..." attributions.
That is a game changer right there!
No worries.
I almost gave my self a hemorrhage looking for that that speaker review LOL.
I am pretty anal about info on HD downloads, lots of misinformation spread on the internet.
BTW, that Bespoke stuff is incredible. I know the Music First stuff, and they took it to another level. When they say bespoke, they ain't kidding.
Interesting...
