As I recall CG was at a show and wanted to play a punk tune or some such non-audiophile record and AN held his nose. About 20-25 years ago in Stereophile. Funny as hell. I miss CG's presence in the mag, and his thoroughly entertaining way with weaving stories and anecdotes in his reviews. Everyone is so damn serious about this hobby now.

Agreed guys-
I miss CG as well. I feel very fortunate to have been a faithful subscriber since 1993. Yes, I have all of those issues!
Corey's article on the incident included the "Rock 'n Roll ain't noise pollution" mantra, along with indirectly calling Nudell an old goat, if I remember correctly.
I do know all about his Payola charges, but CG was the only audio writer who ever made me to laugh to the point of tears. Art Dudley's humor has brought many smiles, a few chuckles, etc. But Greenberg's raw delivery was more my style.
His take on Rock helped me give up trying to enjoy listening to insipid audiophile recordings, rather than the Blues and Rock I love.
Anyone want to buy a Jazz At The Pawnshop CD?
No, but CG is truly missed by myself.
I think though he was with a Home Theatre Publication--not Stereophile.
Yeah I dug him

Corey worked for Stereophile from 1990 through 1994, following which he
joined what was then called Home Theater Technology, which then became Home
Theater magazine. He became editor-in-chief of Audio magazine in 1997,
until that magazine ceased publication in 1999 and was absorbed into
Sound&Vision.
