that deal with audio equipment? I am tired of reading about $30k-50k speakers and other equipment that I consider high priced. I am done with 6moons (high priced euro centric), done with Absolute Sound (high priced stuff I never see in person let alone listen to, done with ST and Sounstage, too.
I do like TNT, and DAR. What other sites deal with equipment that is, to me, reasonably priced? I could afford to buy much of this high- priced stuff, but there is something about it that ruins my enjoyment of music.

Hi,
I noticed your comment about the price of the equipment under review. We actually try to cover a broad spectrum. In fact, in April you'll see a review on $550 Cambridge Audio Aero 2 speakers, $3290 Reference 3A MM de Capo, and $400 Meridian Explorer DAC on SoundStageHiFi.com alone. And that's just one of our sites.

Yes, I should not have listed Soundstage. You do review what I would view as realisticaally priced hardware. You do have what can be a confusing number of websites, though.
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. We do have a number of websites, but they're all intended for different market segments. This is some overlap in some areas, mind you, but not all:
www.SoundStageHiFi.com -- two-channel across all price ranges
www.SoundStageUltra.com -- mostly higher-priced gear, but also focused on exotic and esoteric
www.SoundStageAccess.com -- affordable equipment, plus we've now added those pieces of equipment that combine many functions into one (Devialet's amps, Wadia Intuition, etc.)
www.SoundStageXperience.com -- home theater, headphones, and personal electronics mostly
www.SoundStageGlobal.com -- show reports, company tours, product introductions, blogs
www.SoundStage.com -- the portal to it all

I think the problem is that many reviewers are older and quite experienced audiophiles. As a reviewer we tend to spend 6-10 or more weeks with a product. For many reviewers it is not their daily bread winner. So if a reviewer is going to commit a lot of time to a product it has to be something they want to listen to - which often means it has to as good or better than what they currently own. Most reviewers seem to me to be above 50 years of age which means they probably own quite higher level gear.
The US and online mags typically have the above type reviewers. Though each does review affordable gear. Depends what you mean by affordable. I would suspect that most audiophiles are spending between $5k-$25k on their stereos. As a guess I am basing the minimum as Source player (maybe two or three - turntable, CD player, Computer Audio DAC, Loudspeakers (possibly stands), an integrated amplifier. $1500 speakers and $1500 amp and $500 each for the three sources. Factor in $500 for cables, an audio rack, etc.
I think the better publications for the more regular priced "referred to often as entry level hi end (fairly or not)" comes from magazines like What Hi-fi and Hi Fi Choice.
Here is an example where you can see that the vast majority of what they review in speakers is between £300 to £1000
Albert,
I always start each day w/ 'The Daily Audiophile'.

Yes, thanks for that.
