I will be giving seminars at the RMAF in October on exactly this subject,
that while there may be an "absolute sound" in the concert hall, it
doesn't necessarily survive its journey to the LP's grooves or a CD's pits.

I hope you touch on the fact that there is no absolute sound in the concert hall. Sound variation depending on one's seat is huge.
I am a purveyor and practitioner of so-called "minimalist" recording techniques. I'm here to tell ya, it ain't easy. But when you have a good room and the right setup and things go well, it's a beautiful thing.
