In Reply to: RE: My Imprssions of Duelund DCA16GA for Speaker Wire and Belden 8402 for Interconnects after nearly a month posted by jnr on September 15, 2016 at 11:28:43
I have also been auditioning the 8402 cables and initially was fairly impressed with their full and rather natural sound. However, like you, I am now noticing that when "the singer belts it out" the sound becomes strident. I have heard a lot of differences in the many cables that I've auditioned over the past 20 years but never stridency. Its very strange as if it is something other than the cable.

A very good description of what I'm hearing also. I don't know why, but it goes away when I change out the Beldens for other silver cables or the magnetic cables. What I did not try was using the Beldens with different speaker wires.

Both I and a friend have tried the Belden 8402 with OCC copper speaker wires that were croyed[Audio Sensibility]. I should point out that my friend built his Beldens with Croyed wire from TakeFiveAudio. In my case the Beldens were already built for me by TFA. Cyndi Lauper "At Lasr", showed blat on first playing. It has improved to enjoyable after about 60hrs. Has anyone else tried OCC speaker wire with the Belden ICs? Just wondering what you're hearing? Cheers, lloyd
