For my Paradigm Titans driven by a Topping digital amp? Cost diff. not great, but what do you recommend?
Follow Ups:
I have Titans V4 driven by a TPA3116 amp. I like Kimber but I think they work better with tube amps. They would not be my first choice with a digital amp, but I prefer a warmer sound. I'm using Canare 4s11, which is very cheap. It's nowhere near as transparent as Kimber, but it seems to sound good with my amp and speakers. If you can't bear to spend so little, suggest you look for cables made with Ohno cast copper.
I have a pair of Titans hooked up with Kimber low-end stuff. I own 8TC as well. I wouldn't pay retail for them, though. Never tried all the combos though as the Titans are just sitting there in an unused secondary system. I thought the loudspeakers were a deal at their price, but they never made it over to their family room video system duties, maybe, because of their serious dimensions that you really should stand mount them.
How about Mapleshade Clearview?
I replaced two pairs of 4tc for the bottom of the line Mapleshade, I preferred the Clearviews.
I did have the earlier 4tc with the colored insulation. The 4tc had a glare in the upper midrange.
I have moved on to AudioQuest and you might want to check out there budget cables.
Well, that seems to work. Some pretty decent, clean bass from the Mapleshade cables, plus a slight profile that really helps among all the wire and cable behind the rack.
Thanks again for weighing in on this question.
Interesting suggestion. I am using a pair of Mapleshades in my second system, and I may try a swap.
Thanks.
What are the capacitance of the 4TC cable? might be too much for the topping to push.
Kimber says 136.0 pf/meter. But the 8VS is 2910 pf/meter.
That's 291.0 pf/meter. Bought a new keyboard and I HATE it!
