I've been using Pangea AC-9 power cables in my main system and headphone system. I decided to try a Cardas Clear Beyond power cable but I don't like the forceful and somewhat edgy sound it produces in both systems. It's the same sonic change I've heard when I've tried Cardas speaker cables and interconnects in the past. In my main system my gear plugs into a Haley power conditioner and if I plug the Haley into the wall with the Cardas then the sound is worse as above but the video is much improved. Any power cable suggestions for having the best of both worlds?

I have to say my own experimentation has made it obvious to me some cords are better than others for a specific item. It is not all about the money spent.
It think asking advice when you can hear such differences.. All you are getting is what they like for themselves..
And I suggest you put the Cardas on your TV.. (or FVF/blu ray?)
Yep, this one ...
The forceful and somewhat edgy sound of the Cardas Clear Beyond power cord is perhaps due to Cardas' unique cable topology and the rhodium over silver plating of the AC connectors. What make/model AC outlet do you have installed at the wall at this time? This element can make a big impact on the sound of an entire audio system, one way or another, and may determine what make/model AC plug to choose in order to provide optimized synergy.
Although the manufacturer of my electronics recommends Cardas as the perfect cable, I've had many of their permutations, and have never found any of them to work for ME. As for power cords..I made my own using the top Furutech or Oyeida connectors and found them to be wonderful. (Oyeida sounding a bit "tubes", and Furutech the more truthful) Talk to VHAudio on line.
Me as well- to date I have not been impressed w/ Cardas. To my ears,
it is either too warm and/or rolled off the top end for my taste.
The trick w/ cabling is to get out there and listen, listen, listen.
Cardas ttoally changed it's cables with the Clear line.
No more warm bloat. Now Cardas are 'clear'. neutral and transparent.
The old lines are still the old sound warm and whatever they used to be
"Golden"...
that was not my impression....
Smelly.....agreed, Cardas cut back the bloat....but the graininess remains when used in MY system. In truth, I have heard systems that are quite wonderful using Cardas cable.....I've spoken to Colleen Cardas about this a few times....she maintains that the cable is not broken in yet. But after a few months/every day use, it's still not for me. In my experience, many companies have a signature sound/performance. Purist, Nordost, Wireworld, etc. You just have to find a cable that sings with your components.
The IC were letting the crap behind the signal to show up when you used the less veiled wire.
So I would suggest a power conditioner.
I am totally high frequency crazy, So I can say the Cardas Parsec was a big improvement for my setup. But I had already a lot of things going on to clean up the highs.
So, If you do not have a power conditioner.. get one.
Just a friendly suggestion.
