I'm on a tight budget and welcome comments or experiences comparing a JPS Labs Digital AC-X to a DIY VH Audio Flavor 1 (I already have Neotech connectors I can use) and/or any of the following listed ones. This would be used on my TEAC CD-1000 CD player which I'm using as a transport for my Micromega Mydac. I've tried various combinations including an Audioquest NRG-2, Wireworld Electra 5.2 and Electra 7, Gutwire B12, and Neotech 3003. The Gutwire tames the digital glare best, but at some expense to staging/dynamics. I'm particularly curious about the VH Audio as to how it may compete against any of the aforementioned since the only expense I would incur is buying the wire at low costs.

Thanks for the suggestions and insights. I'm posting my findings in case it may aid others as they're testing or considering cords. The solution was apparently in front of me, though the final verdict is not absolute (guess it never is in this hobby). I simply switched the the power cords on my cd player (transport) and DAC. I put my Wireworld Electra 5.2, which has a warmer sound than the Electra 7, on my cd player and the Neotech 3003 on my DAC. It appears the Neotech seems to work best with very low power consumption components (5 watts or less in this case) and maintains bass and body better than when it was on my cd player, though it consumes only 15 watts.
It's uncanny how different power cords with different AC connectors can move the sonic signature of a component or total system synergy in one direction or another by cable swapping. A critical component of mine, with a tiny 6 watt power consumption rating tends to sound best with a massive 10 AWG power cord. The phenomena of finding good system synergy via cable-swaps can be a very rewarding thing to do in this hobby-craft. All it takes is the will to research (and funds) in order to experiment with different options.
The Wire World Electra7 is excellent.
I agree that it's a great PC, but too thin sounding for this application. I have another one on my preamp and it's the best choice for that. Among those I mentioned, the AQ NRG-2 seems to work best, but still not with the body that the Gutwire B12 offers. I'm really curious to see if anyone has compared an NRG-2 to a JPS Labs Digital AC-X.
I have used the VH audio you mention and the Neotech 3003 ( with economy WattGate plugs and the newer Neotech 3003 ( has some silver content )with gold Furutech connectors.
I preferred both of the Neotech with the newer version a little better but at a much greater cost.
For most applications ( perhaps excluding power amps ) I have found Neotech cables to have a signature smooth but at the same time detailed sound that I find very appealing.
Yes, I've used the Neotech 3003 with the copper Neotech connectors and agree it is smooth with detail, but is rather light in the body and bass. I'm wondering if the 3001 might offer the same positive attributes, but without the deficiencies.
