I have built a few sets of Chris's Fine Silver Wire Twisted pair interconnects that sound better than many other interconnects between my phono-stage and pre-amp. I need to build a pair a foot or so longer than the 4.5 foot ones I am using now. Anyone compare the V-Twist in a DIY form with his silver wire DIY ones? I typically use the Neutrik Pro-Fi RCAs for everything. The Fine Silver Wire ones have extremely low capacitance at 9pF per foot!

I've built the silver interconnects using his silver wire and Eichman rca plugs and used the v-twist wire with KEI absolute harmony plugs. They both sound great, but overall I like the v-twist version better. A little bit better base and a touch "warmer" with still plenty of detail. Alot easier to construct too!
I don't know how much the rca plugs contributed. I built the silver interconnects with both Eichman and Neutrik plugs. I liked the Eichmans better, but is was very close.

One thing I noticed about the v-twist cable is that there was a short break in period. Right off the bat the bass and treble was there but the mid range seemed a little thin. After about twenty-thirty hours the sound was balanced and I am now very happy with them
At 30 hours, your V-Twist cable isn't close to being broken in. Chris VH correctly called this for me. The cable needs several hundred hours before it reaches its fully mature state. In my case, I swapped out RCA connectors at some point so I can't say for sure how many hundred hours were needed for the cable alone, but figure on a minimum of 400, maybe more.
Good to know they will sound better in the future! I didn't know if they were fully broke in or not but after about 30 hours I heard the difference.
After the first 30 hours, you may have experienced the typical preliminary burn-in time of solder joints. While the cellular FEP/Teflon insulated V-Twist requires ample burn-in time, the cable should sound quite good from the start, however a bit congested, since the low-mass AirLok dielectric involves minimal dielectric absorption. I recommend setting an alert/reminder to note obvious improvements at the 250 hour mark, with the stipulation that subtle improvements will continue to develop after many more hours of burn-in time.
Just let the cables run 24/7 with a CD on endless repeat or with a FM tuner as the source. That's the only practical way to let the cables run in over a reasonable time.
