Found a pr of Monster Sigma M2 spkr cables and 1 meter pr of Sigma 2000 interconnects, asking around $300 for all. Can't find much info online as far as opinions, prices, etc. Any opinions? I already know about them going after somebody. Thanks all!!

A good mid-fi cable set.
I wouldn't touch anything by Monster, even if it were free. I do not now nor ever did care for their business practices.
"No one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky...."
The Sigma ICs listed for $500 for 1 meter and the speaker cables were $100/ foot .. so an 8 foot pair of speaker cables listed for $800
I auditioned everything from the 350 series to the 850 series in Monster ICs and the Sigma's were clearly notably better ... the Sigma speaker cable easily displaced the lower end Monster speaker cable .. I forget what series it was
I bought 3 sets of ICs and 18 feet of the speaker cable for my home theater in the early 90's
The Monster cables were displaced by the much less expensive and better preforming L.A.T. International IC's and speaker cable ... the L.A.T speaker cables were replaced with the early Anticables
The single solid core conductor was on a whole different level than the stranded Monster Cable and the L.A.T. multi conductor cabling
My last stop was replacing the Anticable and LAT ICs back in early 2000 ... when I went with all Ridge Street Audio Poiema P!!! ICs and speaker cable
Thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for. I am actually waiting to hear back from someone who has a 6ft pr of Anticables Level 3 for $75. That seems to be the way to go. Thanks, Harley

oldmkvi is correct some have returned their Anti Cables ... the biggest issue with the speaker cables is those terrible terminations he uses ... they really degrade the sound severely and should be replaced with a premium termination or go bare wire
I had mine reterm-ed with Echiman bananas
With the ICs I didn't even take the plunge because of the way he wound the return around the hot ... unequal lengths in the hot and returned made me balk at the ICs
My speaker cables are different lengths, one 15', one 30',
cannot hear the slightest problem.
I'm not saying that equal shorter lengths couldn't sound better, in a direct comparison,
but it seems fine to me, so maybe different lengths, esp an inch or so,
don't matter.
.
Well, some liked them, some didn't.
Just like most Audio Products.
I have no idea if solid core is better than stranded, but all my cables are stranded, and sound good to me.
I understand that Anti-Cables are cheap.
That's their main claim to fame, AFAIK.
That Monster stuff should sound very good, esp if you can get a lower price.
Only Clarus Crimson have beat my Monster IC's.
I have M1.4 and M2.4 Speaker Cables, Bi-Wire, on different systems, definite keepers for me.
My main system has very long and un-even lengths, 15 and 30 feet, M1.4's were expensive at those lengths.
No audiophile would even touch a Monster Cable. They just do not sound that good.
Plenty of other choices.
$300 is WAY WAY too much money.
Sucker bait.
They might be worth $80. But I wouldn't pay anything for them...Old cables which are obsolete are only worth about 1/10 retail.
And that is only to a non audiophile (sucker).
Now if they were Kimber 8TC, and Kimber Hero. Then they would STILL be worth 50% of new Even though they are just as old as the Monster you ask about.

Tinned the ends with silver solder in a solder pot. The spades I used were gold plated copper. I filed all the gold off. Just need to clean the spades from time to time. They'd be 30 years old now.
I did a shootout over 10 years ago vs Cardas and Harmonic Technologies. 2 Metre lengths so I had to move my components to the floor close up between the speakers. Trust me when I say I really wanted to hear a difference. Nothing jumped out at me at the time either way. Was disappointed!
I've upgraded some components since then. Quite a bit actually. Still the cables were revealing enough for me and in fact the whole household to notice the component insertion.
Likely I would hear differences if I repeated the shootout now. All the brands have upgraded material/technology.
But the fact that these Monsters still reveal to me changes like tube brands, caps, and fuse nuances, I'll pocket the money for now. They were $5 a foot back then.
Cheers!

"I know just enough to get into trouble. But not enough to get out of it."
M 1500 are excellent cables, bettered everything I compared them with at the time I got them, including Cardas, Straight Wire and some others at the $400/Meter Price point.
Then I got Sigma Retro Gold used, very refined sound.
Only Clarus Crimson was clearly better.
M1000 are also good, and Sigma 2000 are in between the M1500 and M1000 in quality.
Trash Monster all you want, these are excellent cables.
Also M1.4 Bi-wire Speaker cables.
Expensive and worth it.
I'm sorry none are made any more,
but Clarus is better, so the beat goes on.Don't know what the Monster should sell for used.
