I recently got a Step up transformer, I've never used one before and would like some input.
The arm cabling will go into the step up then RCA's to my integrated phono. It looks like I may need 1.5m to reach and I have one Purist Audio in that length.
Would there be a better choice cable type? As far as I know a step up only requires a shielded low capacitance cable and the Purist would meet those requirements.
Would 1.5m be a problem? I may be able to figure a way to use a 1m.
I truly enjoy the Purist cables they are wonderful to my ears.
If someone were to suggest another type my budget would be <$600.00 most likely used.
Thanks!

Give the Purist a shot. As long as it's shielded, I see no problem as long as it fits your ear. I use a Harmonic Tech Truth-Link in that same application. It just happened to be one of the few shielded cables I had on hand at the time. I've always liked its somewhat warm tone and it ended being a nice fit.... even though it was kinda chosen by chance. Pure speculation, but the more critical cable on all fronts would probably be the one from the arm to the SUT.
I use Purist cables in my system and another cable to consider is the High Fidelity CT-1.It mates up with the Purist very well.HIFI Shark had a pair of 1 meter ICs for $725.A little above the $600 figure that you provided, but not grossly so.
Using the CT-1 on my phono-line connection.
