...your Nordost dealer has run everything on the VIDAR. That eliminates a lot of grunge, which then allows the cable to its job, which is to pas signal with minimal coloration.
That said, if you want your system to do X, Y, and Z, then those qualities MUST be present in the source components and recordings. No cable, not even Nordost's own Odin, can do magic, and make details appear when/where they do not exist.
A few years ago, I ran my friend's Heimdall interconnects on an audiodharma Cable Cooker. The Cooker outperforms the VIDAR. The Cooker allows the Heimdall to pass image sizes with better accuracy.

I agree cable ISNT going to magically transform a signal from a so-so piece of equipment/ recording. The fact you can buy a car with the amount needed $$$ is just mind blowing.
The difference in sonics was quite surprising. Not overwhelming, but certainly not one of those squint your eyes and concentrate to hear the tambourine moments.
The cable cooking thing isn't something I have experienced so I don't have an opinion on its merits.
I concur w/ the panel above- $2400 is nothing in terms of spending, if those cables really move you! Happy Listening.
