To the best of my knowledge, there are no other set-screw type XLR connectors other than the Xhadow Precision XLR and a more exotic Bocchino Audio XLR design, but the Neutrik XX Crimp Series XLR connectors feature a solder-free crimp termination method (see link below). Amphenol makes a solderless XLR, but its termination method seems to be more about convenience of termination in the field rather than that of an audiophile application, or so it would appear. The Xhadow Precision XLR is expensive, but since it's a re-usable connector, it can be considered a good investment to include within a DIY audiophile project toolbox.
yep, i was aware of those 2 possibilities, but i don't like crimping; for me it's like this: either soldering or screwing; thanks!
