In Reply to: RE: Request for speaker cable recs, where to go from Kimber 4TC posted by Dave_K on March 23, 2015 at 15:32:06
Hi,
FWIW, I sold my Kimber Monocle and bought Sablon Audio Panatela.
Plus, sold my Kimber select ICs and bought Panatela ICs.
They are VERY natural throughout the range, a wonderful balanced cable.
I think there may be some cables floating around the U.S. for trial.
Contact Mark Coles, great guy to do business with.
Cheers

Follow Ups:
I read up a bit on Sablon Audio and read the review in PFO. That review gave me the impression they are voiced to sound rich, smooth, relaxed & natural, are great with voices and forgiving of poor recordings, but weren't as dynamic as the reviewer's Auditorium 23 cables and not as good with timing. How do your impressions compare? The reviewer's comments about dynamics make me think they might not be best with my system. With my current system, I opted for small two-way standmounted speakers, and one of the more dynamic examples of that I could find, but they're still a far cry from your horns or the reviewer's Tannoys wrt dynamics. So I'm somewhat sensitive to dynamics in cable selection.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Agree with all the plus points but would disagree regarding timing and dynamics.
I haven't heard the auditorium cables and can only compare to the kimber I had which was slow by comparison. Dynamics, well with my dynamic amp and speakers there is no lack of dynamics at all.
All I can say is that They get out of the way of the music and will be in my system permanently.
Contact Mark Coles to see if he has a pair floating around for testing.
One VERY happy customer.
