In Reply to: RE: ARE $13,200 INTERCONNECTS WORTH THE PRICE?? posted by thebordas on February 14, 2015 at 07:19:35
A 13,200 no-name interconnect makes you thrilled with your preference. I'm speechless, however you can go on and on. What if, $13,150 was pulled from the air?
Follow Ups:
Sure, the cost is difficult to justify, however, if Dave has $100K invested in his rig then $13K is not too far off.
It's fact vs conjecture.
I mentioned the name and the context within which I chose the aforementioned cable. Perhaps you should see a doctor for your cryptic and somewhat incoherent response. Unless of course the cause of your disjointed rambling is from a form of self medication:)

The only cable you mentioned was, "MIT Oracle MA-X Proline IC". A quick search indicated that the cable didn't cost that much. As such, I discounted the MIT as merely a plug, not realizing you were leading into it.
I'll take your word for the price. My bad, I apologize.
Ok, $13,199 is msrp for my 1.5M MA-X Prolines! FYI, I paid $5200 for a demo pair😄

$12000 CD player...
Hooked up to $3500 integrated...(This must be one hell of an integrated)
With a $5200 interconnect...Really??!!??
Its your money dude...

Actually the Vanguard retails for $4500 sans digital board. I had a $10k amp with a $5k solid state preamp and a $7k tube preamp before I demo'd the Vanguard at home. The Vanguard is exceptional and uniquely musical. In truth, I owned a $50k amp/preamp combo that didn't sound as musical as the Vanguard. I was smitten by the sound...not the price. As for the power cords, I have been through the mill and have heard how transformative they can be for a component. I also have wonderful dealers who allow me to retain the value of my purchases when upgrading. I never pay list and frequently pay a lot less than msrp. Need I school you on the importance of your source and concomitant IC? I choose carefully for sound, not for snob value or sticker price. Just so happens that sometimes the best solution does cost more...other times you find a value😚

"The Vanguard will be shipping in July with a MSRP of $3,500 U.S. the price for the optional digital module has not yet been announced. For more information, please visit"
FYI this what I found on the web...without the digital upgrade...
Thank you for schooling me Yoda..."learn I will"...
FYI...my Maggie 3.7i's with Mye Audio stands were less than your cable...speakers used, stands new...
Enjoy...
Thanks
Mark
Ps. You do not create a post like this, if you are not on a soap box...so I get it...preach brother...
Yes, released the wrong price initially and wound up at &$4500 + $1500 more for the digital board. I had Maggie's and demo'd the 20.7's before listening to the 802D's. I guess you know which ones I chose😉

As my ol'man would say...
"That's why they make Fords' and Chevy's"
I do remember your posts prior to the Vanguard coming out...you were sold before you heard it...
Thanks again for sharing...

You and soulfood would make really annoying babies together😉. Instead of playing audio police try joining the conversation!

It is YOUR post...YOU put screaming CAPS, trying to stir things up...saying you are happy with your purchase...trying to push the EXPENSIVE CABLE BUTTON...knowing how that in infuriates some members...
I personally have no problem with expensive cables...I think it is funny how you "schooled" me, that you are not impressed with what things cost just how they sound...so stated in a reply to me...
BUT yet your post has the MSRP of the cable you just bought??!!?? IN THE TITLE...
It is not until later you state you paid $5200 for them...
Your passive aggressive BS is just that...BS...I have not said one negative thing...until just now...
So, just stay on your soap box, because obviously, you enjoy the sound of your own voice...
I am not a guy that says "this sucks or that sucks", if have not heard that particular piece...I have NO comment other than how YOU have presented this subject...you went looking for confrontation...
So...there it hangs bordASS...
Thanks
Mark
You should ease up off the Caps.
As long as you ease into intelligibility 😜

"As long as you ease into intelligibility"
You used all capital letters/caps (shouting) in a subject line that now seems more sensational than credible. This has the percept of being prone to hyperbole. Not good. I hope I'm clear even if you disagree.
You are referring to the post subject line? Wow, you are the master of misdirection. I think I left the caps lock on...didn't know it would be upsetting or considered hyperbole. You need to relax😣
dave_b
You claim, your cables are worth to you (non-comparative sound quality), more than $7000 over what you paid. Enjoy your new cables.
Are you on drugs or something? I am not using all caps...check your end out, maybe something is screwy with your equipment😳

A nice score indeed!
