Additionally, the Monster products will "steal" current from your system. If this is a consideration, if you use big power amp(s) in your set-up?

I have read posts of that very thing. The YMMV thing applies here. Plugging stuff direct into the wall degrades both audio and video here.
The monster does subtle, improvements. Not subtle with plasma though.
As far as the MOV thing with my rig, I will see when I get the brick. I'm thinking I won't hear any improvement, but if there is, great.
I have been using Richard Gray Power Company (RGPC) Pro 400 model for over 10 years now. It does feature the MOV, but, does not steal the current from my supply. As far as Plasma, the best product is a Shunyata V-Ray.
