I think the difference is that you wouldn't be sending the Brickwall back after that same hit. I believe the Monster is based on MOV technology. The MOV's were probably sacrificed when the unit was hit...as they're designed to do. The BW does not use MOV's and looks a bit more bulletproof, both in construction and technology. I'm currently using a BW in my HT set-up. I've had the Monster HTS 2000 and Adcom Ace in the past. Both based on MOV's.

yeah, did a little more reading on the brick and was thinking the same thing.
This is the second one over the years, so it's adding up to a brick.
Additionally, the Monster products will "steal" current from your system. If this is a consideration, if you use big power amp(s) in your set-up?
I have read posts of that very thing. The YMMV thing applies here. Plugging stuff direct into the wall degrades both audio and video here.
The monster does subtle, improvements. Not subtle with plasma though.
As far as the MOV thing with my rig, I will see when I get the brick. I'm thinking I won't hear any improvement, but if there is, great.
I have been using Richard Gray Power Company (RGPC) Pro 400 model for over 10 years now. It does feature the MOV, but, does not steal the current from my supply. As far as Plasma, the best product is a Shunyata V-Ray.
