I have a bunch of three foot length digital coax cables from BetterCables that are really good looking and the perfect length (3 feet) for my preamp to amp connection. Before I go buying expensive interconnects, will these do the job? I also have two six foot lengths of the same wire that sports a very clean looking black mesh covered wire and a nice heat shrink RCA connector. I'm looking at these thinking they would make at the very least a nice clean looking connection of the record player....
It's not super high end equipment, but it's not Best Buy throwaway stuff either. I'm connecting an older B&K Reference 50 to an Outlaw 750 amp and the longer cables would be to connect the output of my Music Hall phono preamp to the input of the B&K.

It'll work fine. Might not be the absolute optimum, but if it can pass a high frequency digital signal why not analogue.

It depends on what particular make/model bulk cable the digital cable is made with.
No idea. It's older Better Cables stuff. I'd say 10 years at least. Still looks new though.
A number of Belden, Canare, and other mainstream cable manufacturers bulk digital cable products are essentially 75 ohm video cable designs intended/marketed by some A/V cable builder/sellers for digital audio use. The designs of some of these cables do not sound high-performance when used as line-level analog interconnects. Avoid cables with a tin plated braided shield and/or a silver plated center conductor for line-level use. Since a solid core copper center conductor larger than 22 AWG tends to produce skin effect artifacts when used for a line-level application, the fact that most of these cables feature a 20 AWG (RG59) or an 18 AWG (RG6) solid core copper center conductor makes them unfavorable options for use as a line-level rca interconnect. A larger than 22 AWG stranded copper center conductor may tend to be fine in terms of skin effect issues, but is less favorable than a solid core center conductor for line-level rca interconnect applications. YMMV
