Unless you have a proper cable burn-in device (e.g., audiodharma Cable Cooker, Nordost VIDAR, or one of Hagerman Audio Labs' "Fry" products), NO cable is ever burned-in.
My colleagues and I have had cables which were in regular use for over 2 decades. We thought they were "burned-in." How wrong we were. One trip to the Cable Cooker, and these 20+ year-old cables reached new levels of fidelity, finally reached their potential.
Until and unless an audiophile has used one of these devices, s/he isn't entitled to answer any question about cable burn-in.

Couldn't agree more with you Lummy. If cables haven't been cooked, you have no idea what they sound like even after years of use. The how long question's in the attached link.
Lummy miss all your posts! Your stories are the greatest.

In the last year or two, the original Xanga (where I had my blog) stopped, and then went to a Wordpress-based platform. So it's now called "Xanga 2.0."
Recently, I've resumed blogging, though not as frequently as I used to. I am now reviewing Totem Element Fire. Judging from the e-mail responses I've received, I get the feeling that readers are enthusiastic. The problem with that is that readers then expect more and more. If I don't "outdo myself," then readers become disappointed, and voice their complaints.
But anyway, the Totem Fire is a product worthy of a recap, here on Audio Asylum. I may be in position to do that in a couple of months. In the mean time, veteran readers know to keep checking my Xanga.

Lummy-
can you share with us the gear in your present system?
Agree as well. That's why I bought a humble Hagerman FryBaby years ago. Costs less than many ( if not most) high end IC's and allows you to finally hear the benefits of "burn-in". Plus you can recondition your IC's periodically whenever you wish.
Lummy has much knowledge in cable-cooking.
