Was reading an article on audiophilereview.com (http://audiophilereview.com/amps/krells-todd-eichenbaum-talks-cables.html) and in the article Furutech connectors were mentioned and the word "Furutech" was a hyperlink leading to Ebay and the seller linked below. Prices for this Ebay seller's items are typically leaning towards the lower side. Are these automatically assumed to be counterfeit cables? Anyone here buy from this Seller?

Just about all of the name brand cables and connectors from China are counterfeit. You can't get an Oyaide plug for $6.99! The base model now sells for $78.00. I have seen Nordost Odin interconnects advertised for $100 or less. These retail for almost 10K! I think they get away with it because they advertise some of these knockoffs as "used" I do buy some of their connectors for my cables as they do offer good value, however they are not the real thing.
I bought a 1.5 metre "Liton" cable last year for around $18 posted to the UK from this seller, or at least a very similar one on ebay. Not the best cable in the world, nor the worst either come to that. Best way to describe it is "unsophisticated" with an unrefined top end yet a pretty good bass. Having said that, construction quality is very good especially so given the price I paid for it.At the same time I bought an 0.5 metre *AHEM* . . . . *COUGH* . . . . "Nordost Odin" for $11 which is NOTHING at all like the real McCoy in either build quality or sound quality either for that matter. I never in my wildest dreams expect to receive a half metre length of Odin so I am not disappointed at all with what was posted to me. I doubt anyone would be fooled into thinking they have bought a genuine top of the range Nordost cable at that price.

Why? Look at the closeup of the ends and weave. You think that XLO QC would let sloppy wave and overlapping strands go out of to customer, plus no hologram label. If obvious is so sloppy, how bad is an inside?
It is my opinion that chances to get something genuine from China seller are infinitesimally small.

If it looks too good to be true it's probably not true. Like everything on that page.
Without going any further than two items for sale, I clearly see warning signs of bogus products:
First of all there is no such thing as a Cardas Twinlink IIC rca interconnect, nor a Cardas Twinlink rca interconnect for that matter. The Twinlink is a speaker cable and a power cord product, whereas the Cardas Microtwin is an actual rca interconnect cable that seems to have been used as the basis for a fake. It's ridiculous that the maker could have produced an actual counterfeit of a Microtwin instead of using a model name of a product that doesn't exist.
Another obvious thing is 32 of the 33 cables (and a set of four WBT connectors) are listed as used, 99% or 98% new, still in good condition, and even the one that's listed as new has text in the description indicating the product is used. It seems to be a trick to make the low prices seem more reasonable to a gullible buyer, as I'm sure all of the products are 100% new, not used. That said, a very telling thing is the WBT rca connectors listed as used do not have any sign of previous solder joints, so they are actually new, not in used condition.
Buyer beware when name-brand audiophile products are listed for sale at blow-out prices from Chinese sellers.
