Please use the term correctly.
The term "giant-killer", when used as an audiophile term, tends to indicate the ability of a lesser-cost device to clearly outperform (or be equal to) a well-known, often very expensive, truly high-end device with an outstanding reputation.
For example:
The VH Audio AirSine power cord was designed with a strong effort to compete with and exceed an almost legendary Elrod power cord. As a result, many folks now find the AirSine to easily be considered a giant, and the AirSine did not get there without very costly and intensive materials and manufacturing processes.
Carol bulk length power cord from Parts Express does not qualify as a giant-killing comparator.
Follow Ups:
Ah, now I understand!
YOU decide what and how things are defined now on the AA, is that it, Duster?
As CLEARLY mentioned in my cited preview, my previous DIY Carol Cable-based power cords (at a hair less than $100, including Furutech FI-11 Cu plug and IEC connectors) absolutely crushed the vaunted Kimber "Palladian", a well-known mega-buck cable, and many other $600+ designs over the years. Yet, my giant-killing Carol Cable DIY power cords were utterly annihilated by the new, entry-level MSA power cord. So, in my experience, the MSA power cord IS a 'giant killer'. (Actually, a 'giant-killer killer'.)
But I guess that doesn't count. And neither do Alan Maher's past opinions on bulk Carol Cable being excellent for DIY, as well, do they? Guess not.
And so you come in and loudly 'proclaim' that a given phrase isn't appropriate because it doesn't meet YOUR standards? And all with a cable you haven't even heard? And despite another poster having already chimed in and said, "Winston's basically been on the nose with the MSA products."
Worst of all, you then make a literally mindless comparison to YOUR favorite design of power cord that sells entry-level for $749 and think, somehow, that that in ANY way compares to a $139 power cord, within the reach of almost any audiophile?
I suspect most audiophiles do NOT own $750 power cords (let alone five of them), and would not consider them 'cheap' or inexpensive. Thus, the MSA "First" against your beloved AirSine would be a very nice "David vs Goliath" scenario.
And so again I say, it's a giant killer.
Try it, you'll like it. (And it might even kick your "AirSine" cable's ass!)
But you'll never know unless you try it.

His posts are informative, brief and on-point, which all add up to exceptionally helpful insights and guidance. He is truly an outstanding asset to AA, and would be sorely missed.
I in no way compare myself to Duster. He is unique, a one-of-a-kind clearinghouse for excellent information on cutting-edge parts and components. I hope he graces us with his presence for as long as possible.
I am sorry to have locked horns with him earlier. Although I disagree strongly with what he posted, I also strongly support his right to say it. Freedom of speech is precious in all forums. Even if it is speech we do not necessarily like.
To be fair, the VH Audio cable starts at $749, which is more than 5x the price.
I'd be happy to send you (Duster) a sample FIRST cable for you to try. Please email or PM me.
You'd probably be better served by trying to dissuade Goose-Bumpity Boy from talking about your product altogether.

There is nothing unfair about it. The point is by what criteria determines the ability call something a giant-killer. I enjoy a number of affordable audiophile devices, but would refrain from claiming them to be giant-killers.
BTW, Audio Asylum does not allow marketing discussions with manufacturers and sellers within the forums.
I agree entirely about 'giant killer'. But it wasn't me that called this a giant killer... that was a long-standing forum member who I happen to know.
Would you respond to a PM? I've tried before with no success.
