In Reply to: RE: If the current is not that much why not a good mic cable ... posted by Duster on June 16, 2014 at 14:06:21
Hi and thanks Mr. Duster for the valuable suggestion as always
I have a kind further question about power cables
Do you think that a shield is really needed also for analog equipment ?
I am quite sure for digital, but not so with analog
Thanks again
Kind regards,
bg
Follow Ups:
Shielding is not always needed, since cable geometry such as a tightly twisted pair/triad and star quad designs rather than shielding can reject/suppress noise. However, shielded power cords for digital applications and phono turntables tend to be beneficial, whereas power amplifiers and preamplifiers tend to sound better with unshielded power cords. These are not hard rules, so YMMV.
Hi and thanks a lot for the very helpful advice
Digital is a bad beast ... i knew
It is very convenient ... but it is a pain to make it sounds fine
Thanks again Mr. Duster.
Kind regards,
bg
