I doubt that Duster or anyone else need your protective prose. Although this entire site is based on Validation, I let my own ears be the judge. The product in question was highlighted at a major trade show (Munich) by Stereophile magazine and Audioquest. Since Duster seems to have a comment on all things wire and connectivity----I thought he might be interested. I was wrong. His response was anything but friendly.

Really, this is simple. Buy the outlets, use them fora year and report back with your experience. Best case scenario, buy the competitors too, compare them , and report back with your findings. It should be easy for you to validate your opinion of them.
"It's all fun and games until someone doesn't pick up on the sarcasm"
In my experience, when a brand new out-of-the-box Oyaide R1 AC outlet was installed at the wall, which had not been placed on a cable cooker prior to installation, nor had seen any burn-in time at all with normal use (which can take hundreds of hours of burn-in time in order to reach even the notion of full-potential), I do recall a level of inarticulate bass which could have been be termed "smeared bass"; a rather forward if not somewhat hard sounding midrange which could have been termed "emphasized midrange"; and somewhat dulled treble energy which could have been termed "ok" treble. As such, if the merits of an Oyaide R1 AC outlet were evaluated based the sonic attributes it presents before the necessary burn-in process it deserves, the evaluation would be highly misleading, or perhaps the evaluation would be that of simple innocence based on a lack of foresight regarding the matter. This is not an accusation, I'm just pondering the matter.
My first paragraph was directed at you, and simply asked for the source of information.
My second paragraph was directed at the promotional website, and had absolutely nothing to do with you. The terms "BTW" and "just my 2 cents" were meant to indicate my second paragraph was a sidebar. There's nothing cranky or unfriendly about that type of response in Audio Asylum, which tends to be full of AA Inmate's personal pet peeves regarding some audio companies' marketing methods.
Anyway, thanks for the heads-up in the first place.
Cheers, Duster
