The switch is a "break before make" type so there is a smooth transition between source selections. If there is a vulnerability to interference, it might be poor shielding, a poor quality switch, or poor quality wiring/PCB traces and jacks. IMO, depending on what cables might be involved (no capacitance issues), if the Kramer VS-4X has a good audiophile reputation I reckon it should do fine...

Thanks for your helpful input Duster. At this point I have no real sense of Kramer's audiophile reputation (or the quality of the componentry) and I can find no reviews either on audio sites or consumer reviews on retail sites (Amazon etc). That was the major reason for posting here.
The other unit which might serve the same function is the Mapletree LR1 Pro. As yet, I don't have much info. about that unit either, though I have just emailed the company's owner.
Do you seek a balanced XLR switcher, or an rca interconnect switcher?
My preference is for a balanced XLR switch.
I recommend you contact Markertek and ask if they carry a nominally audiophile quality passive balanced XLR stereo audio 'switcher', not a 'mixer' (they carry the Kramer model, BTW).
