The MIT house sound can be quite alluring -- IME, a notably musical rather than analytical sonic signature, with well developed soundstage and imaging. I still enjoy a set of classic MIT Terminator 2 speaker cables for use with a pair of midfield recording studio monitors placed in my computer audio system. The MIT Terminator 2 rca interconnects were less impressive, and pushed the MIT house sound too far, to my ear, so they were sold off years ago.

They just seem to have such a nice balance. I had some older t2 speaker cables also I find the avt2 that replaced the t2 has better detail and had a better sound stage. I tried the more expensive matrix 12 speaker and I never warmed up to it it had more air and detail but at the expense of the midrange depth and bottom end. I also tried the cardas parsec. Very nice I am still playing with them but the avt 2 set up has a humanity to the the sound I like jjazz blues and classic rock and just love the sound of jimmy rushings voice with the avt 2 stuff.
Have you tried other make/model interconnects in order to possibly provide better synergy with the speaker cables? I ask this not because I know anything about the MIT AVT2 series in question, it's because IME I found that was the case when both MIT T2 interconnect and MIT T2 speaker cables were placed in the signal path.
I tried mit matrix 6 which was good but the same with the matrix speaker cables more detail and air but lacking the depth and body and texture I like. I am playing with some cardas parsec nice but still playing with them I also used virtue audio cables the speaker cables are very nice interconnects not very good. I tried some more expensive mit shotgun yes they were better but at 10x the price I can definitely can live with the avt2 diminishing return comes into effect....was do you recommend for interconnects under $250
It seems you've found the right cables for your wants/needs. If I were to suggest anything different might skew what you like about the AVT2 house sound or special synergy...
Enjoy ;-D
Cheers, Duster
