Elizabeth, I'm really sad to hear about this difficulty. Why don't you identify the name of this company via PM to Inmates who are concerned so they don't get screwed. I realize that it would be a hassle, but it would be a nice gesture :-)
Cheers,
Al

With that I told them i am not really believing them, and will believe when I actually get the stuff.
So with that i am still not posting the name of the company.
Don't worry, when i am ready to tar and feather them if they fail again. you will read about it.(What they said was the holdup was with the credit from Cardas, Cardas billing/the store billing depts not communicating..
My ranting got them to call Cardas and get it fixed.. So they say.)

Seems like your retailer is as you say; not able to handle a cash flow situation such as this. Your credit is due from your retailer and shouldn't hinge on one coming from Cardas.
Sounds like he's considering your cable as a "special order". None the less, unless he stated up front "special orders not returnable", and otherwise has accepted your return, he should have taken care of you long by now.
Why I feel the need to comment, I guess is because I run a business, and surely it could be handled better than described.
See ya. Dave
Sometimes you have to go to the top to get things done.
