In Reply to: RE: polar opposite 6m IC with 12 gauge wires in them.. LOL posted by Elizabeth on March 01, 2014 at 11:24:02
I wanted to see how they sound not broken in. Pretty good sound. No ear pain anyway.
Listening to the same string quartets i can actually hear some midrange music.
Which was not the case with eiter the 7m parsec, nor the rather expensive 25gauge Kimber wire,
I still plan on using the 25 gauge Kimber for some shorter IC. I would say the issue is the long distance (6 meters) is too much for the thin 25 gauge wires..
One meter should be fine, two even.

I don't know if this relates to your experience with the balanced Parsec.
From the Cardas website:
Parsec Construction:
.370" O.D., Cardas copper, Semi-conductive air-tube, 2 x 25.5 AWG Parsec conductors, Matched Propagation, Golden section, litz, braided shield Alcryn jacket.
So, it turns out the Parsec uses two 25.5g conductors. Hmmmmm.
Also, I sent an e-mail to Cardas to ask them how the balanced cables were configured.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's the question I asked of Cardas:
What I was wondering about is how the internal wires and shield are used in the balanced version of Parsec vs. single-ended. Your website states that there are 2 25.5g Parsec conductors and a braided shield. I'm guessing that the balanced cable uses the two Parsec conductors as the '+' and '-' and the shield as the ground. I don't have a guess on the single-ended version.
Their response:
Kevan,
Thank you for contacting Cardas Audio.
"You are correct regarding the balanced termination. For single ended we connect the negative conductor and the shield at both sides using a single conductor for the positive."

So far the sound is a lot more balanced across the spectrum. than the 25g wires were. Thoswwere inceedible great treble, but no midrange.I would love to make a configuration of wire with the treble of the 25g Kimber wires, and a good warm mid
I think the problem with the 7m Cardas Parsec IS the small wires used as plus minus. Just not enough wire to carry the signal long distances well.
In shorter balanced the Parsec seem fine. hope my experience gets them to reealize it just is not good when it gets too long.

One thing you may want to try ...
THe conductivity and skin effect over the audio band is the key to having balanced sound.
You may want to try sveral differen guages - otherwise you will get BASS and not much treble and vice versa.
Several different wire thicknesses will be good for you and you won't get tizzy treble and sufficient bass.
