I had a look at Clear Day's web-site and have a few doubts about these cables. First of all, it mentions that it is solid core and mentions that it's 24 GA. I use heavier gauge cable for hook-up wire! But if you go shot-gun, then the gauge increases of course, along with: "doubling the conductors increase size and depth of the sound stage, provides more 3 dimensional imaging, and a more liquid and warm sound". So why would anyone buy 24 GA speaker wire with less than optimal imaging and soundstage capabilities? And of course speaker wire has nothing to do with imaging and soundstage capabilities.

I sent them an e-mail asking for inductance specs on shotgun cables and they didn't know.

    I suppose I could do something similar with all the cable vendors - try them all and let my ears decide. But to narrow the field, I'll stick with someone who can tell me what the inductance of their cable is. It's kinda' important.

      With Paul's free demo (well, very tiny cost of return postage when you return them to him), and his money back guarantee (on standard lengths), you have nothing to lose. If you refuse to try them simply to "narrow the field" because of some idea you have about "not enough information on inductance", I can only shake my head and offer you sincere pity.
      I don't understand anything about inductance, capacitance, etc., but I do understand musical sound. For me and my system (and this seems true enough for many others as well, with their very different systems), there's magic in these Clear Day cables. When it comes to music, I'll take magic over numbers any day, anytime, anywhere. :)

      You might want to read the four reviews of these cables here in the AA "Reviews" section.
      Who knows? Perhaps if measured, you may even discover that the Clear Day cables have the "perfect inductance" numbers you're looking for? Perhaps not? I don't know. In any event...
      As I mentioned above, I don't need to know the numbers; I only need to know the sound of music.

        I do understand capacitance, inductance and so on, AND musical sound. But darn it, I want to know the specs! Is that too much to ask from someone that sells cables?

        When it comes right down to it, which is actually most important to you? The numbers? Or the music?
        
        Just knowing the numbers in advance of hearing doesn't really and/or fully tell you what you'll be hearing. Only hearing--in your own room, on your own system--will. With a "nothing to lose" demo, is this not a pretty simple "no brainer", as it were?

        Well, I'm sold. I have had the Clear Day Shotgun cables in my system for the past week and a half and am now an owner. These cables are a tremendous value and Paul is a true professional who provides service that is rare these days.
        
        Compared to the Supra cables I had in there before them, the shotguns are more airy and extended on top, the bass is WAY more punchy and tighter, imaging improved, and separation of instruments and timbre has improved. The only thing the Clear Day gives up on the Supra is a little bit of body but everything else completely trumps it.

        Every system is different, so I don't know if what I'm about to mention is actually the case in your situation, but I do feel it's worth mentioning nonetheless...
        
        When moving from one cable, component, or speaker to the next, I suppose it is natural enough to try and "break down" the sound into various categories of evaluation, but I also believe this can lead to never ending confusion. At some point, you have to listen to music "as a whole", and decide if it's "right", or not. Just taking note of one or another "separated aspect" of sound relative to that same aspect with a different component says nothing about which one may, or may not be "more accurate" in terms of overall musical sound reproduction.
        
        So you mention more "body" with the Supra cables, and relatively less "body" with the Clear Day (single "Shotgun" or double?). Once "body" is defined, ask not which is "more" vs. "less", but which is "more accurate".
        
        I don't know what the answer will be for you and your system, but again, I do feel it's worth asking this question rather than simply juggling relativities.
