Here is a real situation for all the inmates who would like to share their experience with me and everyone else who has been there:
I have 2 systems that are matched them up synergistically. One system is in the living room with the big speakers and the other is in a bedroom with bookshelf speakers. I want now to switch just the sources and the amps from one room to another. Would you keep the same cables on each speaker or keep them on each amp?
Follow Ups:
In the past,I associated my 2 very different cables with my 2 very different speakers. After all, they are called speaker cables, right? But, this time I kept them with the amps and i am convinced that the speaker cables sound their best with my different amps not with my different speakers. My mental notes are now more key on the amp with the speaker cables and less on the cables with the speakers. Thanks for all who shared their experiences!
Enjoy your music!
Nice observations! Thank's for sharing... Enjoy ;-)

I have recently realized that speaker cables have a very significant on the sound of a loudspeaker. You may have amps and/or loudspeakers that are tilted up in the treble or bass region in which the loudspeaker cables can signergistically balance it out.
I have tailored my speaker cables on my high current speakers over the years, so, in my case, my cables would stay with the speakers. I think that the speakers are likely to be more variable than amps in terms of effect of cables.
A logical approach might be to first swap out the amplifiers, keeping the current configuration of cables for each system in place. Then, swap-out the speaker cables and evaluate which set performs more satisfactorily to your ear. You may need to repeat the process if a notable difference for better or worse is not immediately obvious, but if first impressions and continued listening sessions are clearly for the better, I would see no reason to second guess the new configuration.
