Tried that, did not work, as soon as I unplugged power cable, music stopped. My old USB cable, which is a single custom made without power wire connected by Pat of Analog Research Technologies did not have this problem.

Do a search in Computer Audio for posts by chopper87@aol.com (his questions started the discussion). I believe the discussion was in mid to late 2011 and it concerned his DIY USB Y-cable and its use with a MAC Mini.
Thank you Joe for your effort to help me!
If the special USB cable that Pat (no longer) supplies with his Legato worked for you, why change it?
I believe there is a company or two that manufactures USB cables without the power leg (don't know if they include the ground leg or not). You might want to ask Pat about this or read some of the threads that appeared right before he released the Legato. It wasn't here at AA though: it was on another audio forum (can't think of the name right now, but if I come across it I'll let you know).
I know that Markertek will custom manufacture just about any cable you could think of -- and not rip you off, so that may be an option for you.
Thanks for the suggestion. Now I just use an USB hub, things worked out fine, just not sure if hub will affect the sound.
Acoustic Revive USB cable made Legato sounded 3 to 5 times better.
