Hi,
I have a Krell integrated matched with a Krell cd player (300iL + 280cd). I am looking for xlr cables for this system. I have tried Cardas Golden Reference, but didn't like it. The midrange was great, but bass was muddy and highs were rolled off. I was thinking about Nordost, Transparent or Tara Labs cables. I am looking for more resolution, controlled bass and musicality. What would you recommend? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers!

After much experimentation, I use JPS Aluminata IC's from Wyetech Opal pre to Krell 300cx amp. I have found them to be the most balanced from top to bottom and to work well with Krell speed and transparency while not sounding too thin or cold. Audioquest SKY was also very good. Tried Nordost Valhallas for a good long while. Very good but the JPS works better, in my experience.

You may wish to consider trying the copper version VH Audio Symmetry Cu balanced XLR cable. For some reason, I can only find the silver version Symmetry Ag on the VH Audio website. I reckon the copper version is available at a lesser price point:

Well Mike I like the Nordost but were a bit expensive for me. The Tara Labs Prime M1 will run you around $500 for a meter, that's more my speed. I haven't liked the Transparent's that I've borrowed. Now I'm using 3 pair of Moon Audio Silver Dragons and 1 pair of Zu Audio Gere. I've moved the Zu around in my setup, with no audible changes. Are you looking to let your CD player do the digital to analog conversion?
Unfortunately 280cd doesn't have a digital input so I can't use it as a dac. It doesn't bother me at all as I am an old school cd lover. ;)
My Rotel has a digital coax out that I use to send the signal to my Bryston DAC. I use an Audioquest VDM-3 cable to accomplish this.
