Any one compared the Elrod EPS 3 (any generation) with the Verastarr Grand Illusion?
Odyno,
I have been looking for people who have heard the Verastarr GI. I found a review from an audiophile that I consider credible. His audiogon moniker is jmcgrogan. He has used many of the best PC's available and is currently enjoying the Verastarr GI. I have used some of the same PC's he has so I have a point of reference. He describes the sound as on the warm/lush side of neutral. You can access his review at agon by plugging in his moniker on the my page section. You then click on reviews or threads. Certainly at the auction prices they are going for they are a bargain ($500 to $600).

So far, I use an Elros EPS 2 on my CD player and a Verastarr Grand illusion on my amp and the result is astonishing!
The Verastarr is still breaking in and should be able to keep you posted later on.
So far so good
Why do you pick such esoteric brands? There is so much value in selecting popular cables. Check out my favorite brand Anti-Cables.
but I believe he is referring to power cords.
Yes I was.
Seem like not to many people avec experience with those 2 brand of PC.
If you do a search both here and on the Audiogon cable forum you will find plenty on especially the Elrod cords. The Elrod cords are superb in the right system. Regarding the Verastarr cords, I'm assuming you mean the new ones designed by Scott Hall of Electraglide. These cords are just now getting out into some systems. I have good experiences with some early Elrod cords, but I haven't any experience with these newer ribbon cords from Verastarr. Elrod now has a website and a new line of cords and cables. I'm sure they're good and would love to try a couple some day. For now, I am happy with a mix of Fusion Audio and Acoustic Zen. Also, keep in mind that the connectors, the outlets and the cleanliness of your AC power plays a big roll in the synergism of the final sound. Power cords sound different on a variety of components. You have to try one on a specific component in your system and let your own ears decide. Good luck.
