Is it one single jacket cable or two pieces? In any case it is possile to change it.

What I don't know is what is inside of the jacket (I presume 5 smaller cables corresponding to the 5 DIN but I'm not certain). Cardas said that the litz? wiring makes retermination something of a challenge so I'm not sure.Would I just be better off using a rca/xlr adapter to go into my boulder phono input (the boulder only has xlr inputs/outputs)?

replace the DIN?If you want to replace the RCAs that should be easy except you need to determine if the tonearm ground (the middle pin on the DIN) needs to be connected to pin #1 in the XLR.
Is there an external ground wire coming out of the cable somewhere?
If you want to change the DIN better off selling it.
Be careful commericial RCA to XLR adapters internally connect pin #1 to pin #3 which grounds the second balanced input on the Boulder preamp.
thanks -- this was very helpful.
