Last night I tried VS's "other way" on my Paramours and I have to say that this is one awesome mod! Now, I've only listened for a few hours to this, but the results seem stunning! Images are rounder, sibilants that use to pop out and slightly grate on my nerves are now properly proportioned, highs are sweeter and the bass is greatly extended with more impact and less boom. I'm thoroughly blown away! Now, I'm just waiting to find out what the catch is. This is too good to be true! It's like a whole new pair of amps. This is with the Valve Art 2A3's. What will the effect be when I pop Dave Cope's TJ's in tonight?Garland

Could you point me to the exact webpage of VoltSecond's parafeed upgrade that you used please... I get lost on his site... LOL Too much info. Also, have you installed the C4S' yet? If so, how hard was the parafeed upgrade to install? I'm glad you succeeded with you upgrade. I've been wanting to do it for a while now, but I think that I may install the C4S' first. Thanks for your help.
The idea for this came from one of PJ's articles in Valve.
I tried from home getting to your website yesterday evening, but it wouldn't come up. Works fine now though. I'll let you know how it all turns out.
Also try removing C1 and see how that sounds. It works great and no harm will come of it.Kurt
C1... what terminal strip is that located on? I'm at work and don't have the schematic in front of me... What does C1 do?

C1 in this schematic.
Hi Steve, I tried finding the page on VoltSecond's site but could not get on it. So, Ill try to describe the mod; it's super easy to do. You move the wire from the output transformer that's soldered to terminal 14 to terminal 11. That's it! VS also recommends adding a wire providing a path to ground in case of a fault in the transformer but I can't recall the location for this wire. I did not install this but I probably should. And yes, I do have the C4S installed.
If you need more info I can get at my paper copy of VS's notes at home tonight and I'd be glad to help!G.
Great! If you can get your hands on your notes, that'd help a lot. I thought that I'd read that VoltSecond recommended some resistors, but I may be wrong. Yours sounds super easy though. Look forward from hearing from you. Email me if you can.
I believe the mod you are looking for is called the "cathode mod" on VS's website.

Yes!-Cathode mod.G.
Okay... I'll check it out. Thanks.

Tanker,
See my reply to Steve above. The mod basically bypasses the 220uF capacitor which results in less distortion(I think!)G.
Boy...are you in for serious trouble. Forget about doing anything when the TJ's are on. Even though I don't own them yet, I've heard them, and they will transform your amp once again.AnandR.
Ain't it a beautiful thing?Sometimes I still can't believe how good the music sounds coming out of my modestly-modded Foreplay.
Sorry I couldn't make it up again. We'll get there someday.
