Thank you for the advice, this is why I asked the experts before buying anything. It sounds to me like the battery power supply is more trouble than it's worth. I think I will build an external power supply instead. I didn't know that the heaters can run off of DC power as well. My somewhat stock Foreplay is running on AC, I think I'll change it to DC. Some day I will get around to ordering the C4S upgrade. My biggest problem is finding the time to work on all the great projects and ideas I get from VALVE and the Asylum. Thanks again. olen.

with a B+ of 24V. I bought a pack of Energizer batteries and "string" them up for both the 6V filament part (4*1.5V D size) and a string of 9V (I sting 2 or 3 together, can't remember) and the sound was quiet.
Sorry I just can't remember the details anymore. It was about 13 years ago (I made it for my uncle).
