1. An 8 dollar tranny! How is the sound?2. Is there any reason not to try my Sowter 9063's (10K to 600 ohm)?

The SPECO T7010s are the same trannies as used in teh SEX amp and the earlier Paramours. In parallel feed configuraqtion, they sound quite good, far, far better than one would expect for a $4 line trannie.
I've also used these trannies in 12B4A and 6S4A based PF SETs with very nice sounding results.
They really have to be parallel fed (cap coupled), and there must be no DC voltage (or current) on the primary, only the AC audio signal.

Thanks!
For me, more info equals more confusion, with a glimmer of understanding.
From the following post, I figured PJ was saying that I could use my original Paramour OT's:

Then, when discussing using my Paramour upgrade transformers, CB indicated that the stepdown to 8 ohms looked to be too much:

I figured that if I couldn't use the upgrade trannies, then I couldn't use the original trannies. Now I discover that the newest trannies are actually my original Paramour trannies, which I thought were 8 ohm!
Looking at the wiring diagram, I see we have inputs of 8K, 4K, 2K, 1K,and 500 ohms, with outputs or 8 ohm and 4 ohm. So I guess we're using it in autoformer mode (in at 8K and out at 500 ohm), ignoring the secondary outputs (except for ground).
I don't really get what's happening, and I'm glad to have the benefit of relying on a bunch of smarter people.
PS: My radios glow in the dark, too.

It's a $4 tranny, and for the price of the kit and the extra parts, it is unparalleled!
Holy cow!
Do you think I would get any improvement using my Sowter 9063's (10K to 600 ohm or to 150 ohm)?

It couldn't hurt to try. The ratio is close enough that you should get good results. You would also get the benefit of being able to try taking the headphone output off the CT for a lower impedance can.
Thanks.
I just ordered 4 Speco's from the site you linked. Minimum order is 15 bucks, so I ordered the four. I'm getting two Quickies, so maybe I'll try the extra pair in the low pass filter one.
Total was just under $24. It will be interesting to compare to the Sowters.

Thanks CB. That's a good vendor. (Of course I'm pretty close to Wilkes Barre [Wilksberry to us locals] and UPS Ground gets here the next day.)
These trannies are larger and heavier than I had imagined them. Looking forward to receiving the Quickies and giving them a go.
