I guess I love the building and would rather build a new amp from Bottlehead if given the option. Heck, I have the Paramounts and I still want to build the Stereomour.
Follow Ups:
Of course, I would rather build than buy. I posted the thread just as an FYI.
My first Bottlehead Kit has been ordered, a Quickie, and I am pretty stoked. I am very sure I will be ordering more in the future, even with all my other projects in the basement, I am looking forward to doing a point to point instead for the first time.

Cool, haven't ordered mine yet. Should be fun. But the real, real fun comes when you build the FPIII, Paramount, etc... I have enjoyed those more than I can say. Quickie would be interesting from a learning perspective especially.
And from a play perspective!
That (IMHO) is the point of a $99 kit - you can play with it, try outrageous mods, take it to the beach ... :^) hey, how about some solar panels to power it? Or modify one of those crank-powered flashlights?
Or even a stationary bike. Oh the fun you can have!

And sound-wise it's got a pretty good foundation. DHT, clean HT, DC filaments, short point to point wiring. I think we're gonna get some fine sound out of it.
Triamp... Take a load off!
I think the DHT aspect will become more talked about once more folks hear it. That's one of the things I notice, the very relaxed yet highly resolved sound that DHTs have. When you combine that with the low noise battery supply you get a pretty refined sound for a Franklin.
Did I miss something? Is the stereomour a released product?
But worth waiting for, I think.
Agreed. I could never bring myself to buying somebody else's "pre-built" Bottlehead gear - you can't put a price on the feeling you get from seeing a Bottlehead box arrive at your doorstep and building your OWN amp from those parts. Plus, I'm way too fastidious with construction and would have to fight the urge to inspect every solder joint and wire, which might mean ripping apart the whole thing and re-doing it. Might as well build my own....
Also, what's with the blue top plates? I suppose they could be re-painted, but that would entail taking apart the whole darn amp (or in this case, amps). Again, might as well start from scratch.
I'd buy kits only, too. My top plates are blue...but they're a real nice sapphire blue, very dark like the bmw color w/ many clear coats. Looks good with flat black iron, black hex-head machine screws.
