Hi Blackplate,
Sorry, I didn't think of that. My wife & kids asked me what headphones I wanted for my birthday. I couldn't bring myself to tell them AKG K702s which is what I really wanted. They got me the K240 MK II, 55 ohm headphones. Could you please explain what you mean by too demanding. I try to learn something new everyday. ;-)

I cannot comment for sure on the K240-MKII, but the Quickie ideally drives higher impedance/higher sensitivity headphones. The 240's are low impedance, but may have the sensitivity to work well with the Quickie, it is just hard to say.
K-701's are one of the more demanding headphones I have ever owned, there is no question that you need something akin to the SEX amp to properly drive them.
I think I'm going to have to say I do not understand the coorelation between high impedance/high sensitivity. Can you point me in the right direction. Maybe some good reading.
The AKG 240 MK II headphones have an efficiency rating of 91 db SPL/V and are 55 ohm. What do you think Sir.
Impedance at the most basic level is matching the load of your headphones to the amp. The Quckie is setup to work best from high impedance headphones (over 100 ohms).
Sensitivity is a measure of required power to reach a certain level. Headphone sensitivity, unfortunately, is measured ina million different ways, so there is no standard.
From the numbers you posted, I would say go for the SEX amp or save up 200 bucks for some used HD-600's.
