If you have the current PT-2 power transformer and the iron upgrade, it's possible. I won't be writing a blow by blow manual for this upgrade, so you would have to refer to a schematic and sort out where everything connects. Mostly it's a matter of reconnecting the 12AT7 socket to accommodate the 6CM7 and the shunt regulator connections. But you may also have to redo some of the grounding connections and the wiring of the bottom leg of the output transformer primary. I guess you could say this would be our first "advanced" kit.

Thanks for the info....very much appreciated. I am going to have to study the circuit a little as this is a bit over my head.
I read PJ's posts about converting to the 45, but since I have upgraded the iron and the C4S, I am still not sure what to do. I know that the 270ohm power supply resistor was cut out for the upgrade with the new choke.
Do I just need to replace the the cathode resistor with a 10 watt 1600 ohm resistor to ge the appropriate values for the 45 tube or is there a mod I need to do to get the power supply prepared for the 45's? Or do I need to modify the values of the resistor on the C4S board also?????
How do I get ahold of this schematic? Also, is there enough gain in the seduction with the recomended cartridges to run the 45 paramour 2's to full output(I have 100k pots on them). Right now I am using a modified Precision Fidelity-C7A(no linestage)but I would rather listen to an all out designed 6DJ8 phono pre. Thanks, Paul
