im using an sb3 and am surprised with the sound quality as stock. and there are mods to be done to it. it is not that different from my cd player (maybe that says something about my cd player tho). its convenient as the computer does not need to be close to the sex amp and i am surprised at the additional stuff the sb3 has such as internet radio, rhapsody and ive really gotten into pandora (personal internet DJ) and your computer doesnt need to be turned on to access these 3 things. the only down side for me is my phone cant be used (vonage) with the sb3 at the same time...

I second the SB for computer audio. Mine has been modded, but I would not hesitate to get a stock unit. I have a HagUSB that I use with a setup in the office. It sounds good, but the convenience of the SB and ability to upgrade it in the future are what I like. It replaced a very good CD transport and DAC.
tsingle999, I'm not sure why you have an issue using the SB and Vonage? I use a VoIP phone and can use both at the same time.

  maybe my wireless router (netgear) wasnt so good. it just died so i am switching to the squeezebox preferred ruckus router. hopefully this will fix it...
