Forgot to say that they are on Audigon if that matters. Was wondering if that is good site to buy on. Thanks in advance

Half the fun and an immense amount of pride is achieved by building the amps yourself. You'll learn valuable trouble shooting skills and then you'll be able to fix it yourself if it breaks. You can upgrade the unit yourself. In a world of mass-produced plastic products these amps are pretty cool.
Plus there’s nothing like supporting Bottlehead directly. Check out DocB’s support guarantee. If it doesn’t work he’ll fix it if built stock (check out his website for details).
I bought my ARC Amp and AI pre amp there. Those worked out well. I would avoid buying used carts there or anywhere else. I learned my lesson.

Buying Bottlehead gear used seems to be somewhat of a crapshoot too, unfortunately. We occasionally hear of someone buying a used kit for a "great price", then finding out it doesn't work. Too bad, because our make-it-work guarantee gives the seller no excuse for it not working. If you buy used, ask if you can return it to the seller if it doesn't work right. We don't extend the guarantee to second owners. And demand that the manual be included.

The pictures of them are on Audiogon. Just type in Bottlehead in the "search" bar on the home page at the top.

They are Paramours with the iron upgrade. The C4S circuit is included with the stock Paramour kit, it is not a $300 upgrade. I think he meant to say the iron upgrade there, not C4S. He also doesn't say who he paid $350 to build them. If it was through us they were built by John Tucker of Exemplar Audio, as we don't build kits here. And lastly, the new retail price listed for the stock kit without the iron upgrade is not $1249. It's $599. The iron upgrade is $300. $1249 is the total he paid for the stock kit, the iron upgrade and the construction. I don't think he is trying to mislead, he just got some of the facts a little confused.
